Moyes Advisory

From Simon Murphy:
Moyes LS4 owners should check the front tie-down strap on their Xtube centre-casting. The strap, which holds the XTubes onto the keel, hasbeen found to be severely warn on one glider, and worn on a second one. The problem seems to have been caused by the casting having too-sharp edges. The cure is to put a smooth radius onto the slot through whichthe strap passes. Moyes are preparing a safety advisory at the moment, with the help of Gordon Rigg (who's glider hasn't exhibited a problem).

Paraglider Pilots Meet at Lasick's

Following the lead of the Capital Hang Gliding Club in the selection of a salubrious and centrally located meeting site, (not to mention FREE). Members of the Mid Atlantic Paragliding Association and the Duke's of Windsoar Powered Paragliding Club met at Lasick's on Wednesday night October 10 to discuss the clubs and further activities. Of primary discussion was the proposal to merge the Maryland Hang Gliding Club with the Capital Hang Gliding Club and the Mid Atlantic Paragliding Association. The members voted unanimously in favor of pursuing such a proposal. The Paragliding Club will be holding a follow up meeting on the second Wednesday of each month. The November meeting will be on the 14th. All interested persons are invited to attend.
