Region Nine Contest Results

Here is listing of the winners of the various classes in the 2001 Region Nine Almost Yearlong XC contest. As one can see there were actually quite a lot of good flights over the course of the year, despite a perception that the year was sub-par. In addition to the two hundred milers, the Rookies did particularly well this year, with two of them promoting themselves all the way into the Open class for next year. Congratulations.

I have written and submitted to Hang Gliding an article on the contest, and it should appear in the February issue. Similarly, I have ordered the winners' award certificates from USHGA. They should be coming soon.
